Father Crites Farewell Luncheon

We at Epiphany said goodbye to long time Rector Father William Crites who is retiring. The Church gave him an apple tree of his choice to be delivered and planted in his yard. The good thing is, Father Crites is not leaving Amherst. He will continue to be a part of our Parrish after visiting other local Parishes for a few months to allow Father Kevin Spaeth to settle in at Epiphany.
A farewell luncheon was held in Father Crites honor and as usual our Anglicans came through with lots of great food. We know how to do Pot Luck!
After attacking the food tables....
...we chowed down.
There were so many well wishers present that some had to sit in the kitchen.
It was a sad, but yet promising day for all.

Spring Parish Picnic

Our Spring Parish Picnic this year was also the venue for the parish to congratulate Andy Jordan, the first recipient of the Taylor Miller Scholarship.

Andy , who is from Amherst, will attend Longwood University this fall after graduating from Amherst County High School in a few weeks.
Tina Cox and Taylor's Dad, Jess Miller prepare to award Andy the Scholarship.
After he received the award, Andy read his essay on Taylor that was part of the Scholarship application. It was a very moving tribute to Taylor.

Here are some members of our Parish enjoying the food and conversation during the picnic.
Kayla Johnson and her mom, Nancy (hiding behind her) with Ginger Graffeo and Evi Kirkman.

Paul Graffeo with Raymond Johnson.

Billy McClenny speaks with Andy Jordan and his mom and dad.

The Fulton's and Stephen King.

Father Crites speaks with our newest members, Barbara and Earl Webb and their daughter Cynthia.

Sorry we didn't get a picture of everyone, but the usual photographer was outside in the rain cooking.
